Dental. Thursday, November 6, 2008 8:30am-4:15pm (6 CE credits) Endodontic Diagnosis - can often times be the most difficult phase of dental treatment. Endodontic diagnosis is frequently complicated by many other conditions which mimic pulpal disease. This lecture will sort through the many complexities involved in arriving at a correct diagnosis while presenting a systematic approach including all appropriate endodontic diagnostic tests and how to assess the level of treatment difficulty. Topics covered: • Diagnostic tests • Assessing treatment difficulty • Anatomic variations affecting treatment • Radiographic interpretation Pulpal Management of Young Teeth

Uses -During tooth
formation, all endodontic therapy must have as its goal preservation of
vitality to allow for completion of root development.
Differences in management of carious and traumatic exposures including
use of MTA for pulp capping, pulpotomy and new methods of apexification
will be covered. Treatment of crown and root fractures,
displaced, intruded and avulsed teeth are included. Use of
MTA for reverse fillings, sealing of perforations and resorptive
defects will be illustrated. Camp, DDS, MSD is a dental graduate of U.N.C. School of Dentistry. He completed graduate training in pediatric dentistry at Indiana and endodontic training at U.N.C. He is currently in the private practice of endodontics in Charlotte, N.C. and teaches on a part-time basis. He is adjunct professor at U.N.C. School of Dentistry. Dr. Camp is a member of numerous professional organizations and has lectured extensively throughout North America, Europe and Asia and published numerous articles and textbook chapters in the areas of traumatic injuries, pediatric endodontics and endodontics. Dr. Camp currently serves as University Clinical Consultant for Dentsply Tulsa Dental Specialties. |
