AIDS in the Twenty-First Century: Our Responsibility as Professionals

Alumni Speaker Series

Friday, October 26, 2007  (3 CE credits)
8:30 – 9:50 am

The disease now known as AIDS was reported a quarter century ago. A long siege began, and there is yet no end in sight. The face of AIDS has changed, the hopes of patients have changed, the prognosis has only been slightly mitigated. At this juncture it is appropriate to consider:
•    The changing face of AIDS
•    The changes in our practices
•    The culture of AIDS
•    The situation in the United States and the world
•    What we, as professionals, must do

As professionals, we must remember that the secret in the care of the patient is caring for the patient.

This presentation will review and offer management recommendations for diseases and conditions including AIDs, hepatitis, cardiac conditions and other conditions that may complicate the provision of dental care.

• Foster comprehensive patient-center care
