Clinical Challenges in Sinus Floor Augmentation: Principles
of Treatment Planning, Surgical
Approaches and Choice of Materials
Previously Recorded, Self Study
Overview of the anatomical features of the maxillary sinus
The anatomical and morphological variables of the maxillary
sinus will be analyzed in order to better plan the surgical approach for
maxillary sinus lift
The different approaches to sinus lift will be described and
the decision criteria for the choice between the different techniques will be
analyzed
The advantages and characteristics of the various graft
materials for sinus lift will be described.
Aspects relating to patient-reported outcomes and
post-operative management will be considered
At the completion of the program, participants should be
able to:
Know how to plan an maxillary sinus augmentation especially
in relation to the morphological variables that can increase its difficulty,
cause complications or influence its outcomes
Know when to choose between a lateral or a crestal approach
Know the characteristics of the graft materials commonly
used for maxillary sinus augmentation
