Introduction to Smile Design:
How to Create a Smile that Fits

It has been said that the best cosmetic dentistry is never seen, because it blends in so well. Why do some smiles look as if they belong to the owner, while others are easily detected? What design parameters should be employed to ensure a favorable outcome?

      Dr. Robert Yetto discusses
  • Determining the correct outline form for anterior      restorations
  • How to determine the correct number of teeth to treat
  • How to determine the correct types of restorations to do the job right the first time

About videoconferencing technology

In order to maximize attendance in a cost-effective manner, the CDE Caffe series is delivered through ISDN videoconferencing.  Digital telephone lines are used to connect a participant site to a central switching hub (a multipoint conference bridge) that enables all of the participants to see and hear each other.

Once the sites are connected, each participant site should keep microphones “muted” (turned off) unless they have a question.  There is a short delay from the time a microphone is activated until participating sites can hear your question.  You site coordinator will either be present in the room, or make sure that you’re instructed on the proper use of the teleconferencing equipment.

When you’d like to ask a question, please activate the microphone and pause for “two count” prior to speaking.  Please state your name and location (e.g., “This is Fred at Canton” and my question is….”).  Once you’ve asked your question, please re-mute the microphone.

Should any connection difficulties arise during the course of the videoconference (loss of video or audio), please bring it to the attention of your site coordinator immediately.   It may be necessary to re-establish the connection, which will take a few moments.  If there is a prolonged delay, the site coordinator will request the host site to either repeat any portion that was lost, or make alternate arrangements for you to receive the material on a case-by-case basis.

The site coordinators will have critical trouble shooting contact numbers with them, but you are always welcome to call the University at Buffalo help line at (716) 645-5525 during the conference to report any connection difficulties.  Any concerns after the conference should be made directly to the UB CDE administrative office via e-mail ubcde@buffalo.edu or phone (716) 829-2320.
