Anatomically Directed Endodontics:

Ensuring Biologic and Functional Success

Friday AM 10/27/2023

11 AM EST | 10AM CST | 8AM PST

Revolutionary instruments access areas that traditional “round” NiTi cannot safely reach. After establishing a glide path, these instruments complete the cleaning to the maximum natural diameter while optimizing root strength. This conservative root treatment is completed by bioceramic root filling technology that does not shrink, wash out or require excessive preparation on the coronal third of the canal space. These new evolutionary generation of 3D cleaning files and bioceramic technologies will obviate the shortcomings of round files with legacy filling techniques.

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to understand:

  • Shortcomings of traditional files
  • How 3D instruments clean to maximal diameters with conservative dentin removal
  • Bioceramic sealer in both cold and warm hydraulic techniques

Meet the speaker:

James G. Hupp DMD, MS, received his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984. Upon graduating, he practiced general dentistry in the US Navy until 1993. In 1996, he completed his endodontic residency program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Master of Science degree. He became a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 2003. In 2009, he retired from the US Naval Reserves at the rank of Captain. He has remained active as an educator and in 2011, as Associate Professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center he was awarded Clinical Instructor of the Year and inducted into the prestigious Nelson Order. Currently, he is Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Patient Care and Director of Endodontics at Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine. His current research focus is Micro-CT evaluation of various instrumentation techniques.
