Saturday AM 11/4/2023 11 AM EST | 10AM CST | 8AM PST
Reviewing principles and learning the latest in oral surgery can be valuable for the general dentist, regardless of your scope of practice. Whether you perform dentoalveolar procedures in your office or routinely refer to oral & maxillofacial surgeons in your community, this course will review the key pearls and pitfalls you need to know to be up to date, including fundamentals of surgical technique, potential complications, and updates in managing common problems we encounter on a regular basis. Topics reviewed will include dental extractions, infections, and medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaws (MRONJ).
At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:
Review basic surgical principles for routine and complex dentoalveolar surgery
Discuss updates on relevant topics in oral and maxillofacial surgery including management of odontogenic infections and medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaws (MRONJ)
Understand and recognize common complications in oral & maxillofacial surgery and when to refer to a specialist
