Course Details 12:30pm ~ 4:30pm (4 CE Hours ADA/CERP) Friday, September 18, 2009 Tuition Dentist $95 Team Member $75 Location: Carnahan Center From I‐90 (from north): From I‐86 (from east and west): From Rt. 62 (from south): JCC’s Jamestown Campus 525 Falconer St., Jamestown Upon entering the city limits on Rt. 60, you will pass Comfort Inn, Bob Evans Restaurant, and Lakeview Cemetery on your left. At the double set of lights at the southern end of the cemetery, turn left on to Buffalo St. at the second light. Turn left at the fourth light on to Falconer St. At the four‐way stop, turn left on to Curtis St. to reach the Physical Education Complex and Hultquist Library; continue straight on Falconer St. past Diethrick Stadium to the campus entrance, on the left, on James Ave., for the Carnahan Center.

The Tales That Teeth Tell! ![]() This presentation is designed to familiarize the audience with the need, role and responsibility of the forensic dentist. In both civil and criminal matters, the trained dentist is often called upon to aid in the identification of unknown remains, interpret bite marks, or perhaps render an opinion in issues of negligence. The program will graphically depict the various definitions and responsibilities of the forensic odontologist and their relationship to police, fire and judicial agencies. Mass disaster team organization and the process for identification of victims will be reviewed and highlighted with information on recent incidents. Learning Objectives/Outcomes: • To understand the role and responsibilities of the forensic odontologist • To familiarize with the organization of a dental identification team for a disaster response Course objectives: • Understand role of forensic dentist • Be familiar with current techniques and technology utilized by forensic dentists. • Cultivate further interest in this field and direct participants in how to obtain further information, direction and courses of study and participation. The experience of the speaker and his role in various incidents should give the audience the perspective on what the area of study entails.
