 Self-ligating Orthodontic Bracket Systems:
Friction & Clinical Efficiency



Review the scientific evidence about friction and self-ligating bracket systems and the clinical efficiency of different self ligating orthodontic systems.  A detailed description of the key differences between different self-ligating systems and how these differences affect your clinical utilization will be presented.


At the conclusion of this lecture, you should be able to differentiate between scientific evidences of the efficiency of self-ligating systems and different company claims. In addition, you will be able to recognize the difference between wanted and unwanted friction in orthodontics.

Facts & Future



In this presentation, Dr. El-Bialey describes how on an accidental discovery in research resulted in a novel way to help repair orthodontically induced root resorption. Media misinterpretation of this unexpected finding led to our research shifting towards re-growing new teeth in adults. He will present current facts about re-growing teeth and the role of general dentists (especially those who are interested in dental implants).

Learn how to prevent orthodontically induced root resorption once it is diagnosed in orthodontic patients, and how it can be managed effectively. Explore the future in natural replacement of lost teeth in adults.

This course is unique because it ties together science and clinical applications in daily orthodontic practice as well as future general dentistry (especially those who are interested in dental implants). Dr. El-Bialey presents a number of challenging cases and how to manage these cases.
