Faculty: Sebastiano Andreana, DDS, MS is Director of Implant Dentistry and Associate Professor, Department of Restorative Dentistry, at the School of Dental Medicine at the University at Buffalo. Prior, was Professor at the Department of Periodontology at Loma Linda University. Presently Faculty member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Maxi Course. Has served as President of the American Association Dental Research, Buffalo Chapter, is Senior Associate Editor for Journal of Implantology and reviewer for Journal of Periodontology, Journal American Dental Association, British Dental Journal, Journal of Oseointegration, Immunological Investigations, Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research and Laser in Medical Sciences Has published over 100 articles both nationally and internationally, and presented over 100 research abstracts. Michael N. Hatton , DDS, MS, is a Clinical Associate Professor in Oral diagnostic Sciences and Clinical Assistant Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the School of Dental Medicine at Buffalo, New York. He also serves as the Director of Oral Medicine. Dr. Hatton is certified by the American Boards of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Dental Anesthesiology. He holds Fellowships in American Academy of Oral Medicine and The American College of Dentists. He has also been in the private practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for over 20 years, and has many publications in the scientific literature. He currently serves as Council Chair of Long Range Planning Hospital Dentistry for the Eighth District Dental Society and is Past President of the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Christopher Pusateri, DDS, MS received his dental degree at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, as well as a certificate in Prosthodontics and a master�s degree in Oral Sciences. He also completed a fellowship in surgical and restorative implant dentistry. Dr. Pusateri currently serves as Clinical Instructor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University at Buffalo and maintains a private practice limited to prosthodontics in Buffalo, New York. |

The expertise comes in knowing which ones to refer out." 1 Simplified Placement of Dental Implants A University-based Hands-on Workshop ![]() October 14-16, 2010 UB School of Dental Medicine This is a comprehensive didactic and clinical course providing information and skills necessary to incorporate implants into your daily practice. The course includes lectures, video demonstrations, hands-on on experience and clinical observation. Faculty review head and neck anatomy relative to the surgical placement of dental implants and the requisite diagnostic work in order to evaluate, assess and treatment plan patients in need of dental implants. Learn proper placement of root form dental implants in a simplified step-by-step fashion. Faculty present actual cases illustrating diagnosis and treatment plans. Course participants will observe live surgery performed by, or under the direct supervision of, the course instructor, and have an opportunity to perform hands-on procedures on pig jaws. The objective of this course is to establish clinical comfort with placement of dental implants, manipulation of surgical flaps, obtaining of tension free surgical closure with proper suture materials and suturing techniques, followed by an overview to restoring the implant. Treatment planning is extensively reviewed in order to gain the necessary level of confidence in using implant systems. 1.
