We are seeking a Part-Time Dentist to work at a county jail(s) in the Fulton, Schoharie, Montgomery, and Sullivan Area. Correctional
dentistry is a unique, challenging, and exciting opportunity for
dentists because it allows you to provide patient care without the
interference and barriers associated within a private practice. This is
the perfect opportunity to provide dentistry in a public health setting,
while improving health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental services within designated hours of operations.
- Utilize universal precautions for patient dental care.
- Exam, diagnose and treat patients consistent with professional standards and defined scope of service.
- Document
patients’ needs for every dental encounter utilizing the SOAP format,
update the patient health history, and obtain patient consent prior to
delivering of care.
- Keep
patient information confidential and respect patients' rights to
privacy, in accordance with accepted confidentiality practices for
incarcerated individuals.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of Dentistry Medicine (DDS/DMD)
- Experienced clinician preferred
- Recent graduates encouraged to apply
- One (1) year of experience in oral surgery preferred
- Active and unrestricted State Dental License
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Great interpersonal skills
